About NFSNET
The goal of the NFSNET project is to use the Number Field Sieve
to find the factors of increasingly large numbers.
NFSNET is nearing the end of its testing phase. We've been
steadily ironing out the wrinkles as they arise and working towards
an official release.

Paul has been involved in many distributed factoring projects over
the years, an early one being the RSA-129 project in 1994. Later
ones include the first 512-bit factorization by GNFS and running
the ECMNET master server. More information can be found at

Richard Wackerbarth, Texas, U.S.A.
Richard organized, wrote the infrastructure code and administered the
sieving and data collection for the original incarnation of NFSNET.
The original effort completed numerous large-scale factorizations,
amongst them being the record-setting SNFS factorizations of 10^167-1 and
3^349-1.
